The First year without Josef
On the 31st of July this year (2025) loved ones gathered at St Matthias' Church in Colindale, London - to remember Josef.
Father Matthew, a traditional and gentle minister, led the service and it gave me and others opportunity to not only say things out loud in God's house to Josef and everyone present, but also to stand alongside each other and share perhaps what was to be, for me at least, the worst day of the year.
After the main service, at just the right time, we all made our way down the road to Deronda House to place Josef's concrete Tardis next to his memorial plaque. The ground was specially blessed with prayers and Holy water, then the Community Site Manager- 'Irish Bobby', played his traditional drum which felt spiritual and also seemed to resonate somehow, somewhere within.
Thank you everyone for being there that day - in person or in spirit <3
